Plus Europe Organising Committee Meeting

Presentation: Thank You Note from the Organisation

Dear participants of the Second Plus Europe Conference,

On behalf of the Organising Committee of our Second Plus Europe Conference, we thank you each of you who have attended this conference and thanks to our participants, special guests and guest speakers. We appreciate you for taking the time and effort to be here. We are grateful for your participation and for sharing your ideas and expertise. We certainly hope that the conference has fulfilled your expectations and that you have taken the opportunity to discuss and exchange opinions with professionals from all over Europe.

Our objective for this conference was to build on the achievements of the First Plus Europe Conference held last year in Barcelona, thus contributing to engage European citizens and facilitate civic participation in European governance.

We would like to thank the co-stakeholders (the Spanish and Dutch Districts of Rotary International, and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona), our main Sponsor (“CaixaBank”), collaborating entities (Eurochambres, Handelskämmer Hamburg, Unioncamere Veneto, the EU-Office of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Red Cross Centre of Cooperation for the Mediterranean, and the Spanish Chapter of the Club of Rome).

As you may know, parallel to the main conference, there were two workshops, one led by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Schmidt Trenz from the Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg, and the other one directed by M. Jacques di Costanzo, Director of Rotary International. Participants from both workshops gathered together to agree on the signature of the Brussels Declaration, which is attached here.

This conference has shown us that young people are indeed committed to the European project and we are proud to have had more than 50 students and postgraduates among the participants from all over Europe thanks to the Plus Europe [Youth] Forum Scholarship Programme.

We will keep you updated with the newest information on the next activities of the Plus Europe Association.

Kind regards,
Jacques di Costanzo (President)
Ramón Masià (Secretary General)
Janira Tor (Director)
