This Declaration was adopted by the representatives of the Workshop with European chambers of commerce, professional associations and civic entities, and by the representatives of the participants at the Workshop with some European Rotary Governors and Members of National Committees.
The representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of Barcelona, Hamburg and Veneto, as well as representatives of Eurochambres, the Plus Europe Association, and leading European Rotary Districts and Clubs
- That each and every of these civic entities, from now on called the “ENTITIES”, pursue the common good.
- That the ENTITIES, within their respective fields, wish to coordinate their activities and create a broad platform of Civic Entities interested in achieving a fully integrated Europe.
- That the ENTITIES wish to launch initiatives that foster citizen engagement and the civic values of the European Union. These initiatives will initially be focused on job creation through vocational training and young professional programs, thus boost their employability and mobility across Europe and overcome cultural barriers.
The ENTITIES agree that only through intensive citizens’ cooperation and shared values, the European Union can be sustainable. A Europe in which citizens, together with European institutions, advocate for the common good and social justice.
To enact a Program in accordance with the abovementioned values, a Steering Committee is set up, formed by two members from European Chambers of Commerce, two from European Rotary Clubs and two from the Plus Europe Association. By the end of 2014, the Steering Committee shall present the program for 2015-2016 for the approval of their respective governing bodies.
